Don't Out Bustle Your Hustle

I know the title sounds corny as hell, but I had to try to come up with something catchy. Seriously though, ponder this quote for a moment:

"Everything we need to fulfill our true destiny always comes to us at the perfect time. But spiritual awareness is required to recognize those gifts and opportunities."

~ Anthon St. Maarten.

So then, all of us should be living Divinely timed and perfect lives, right?

So then, all of us should be living Divinely timed and perfect lives, right? And if you're not, then all you need is a little more spiritual awareness. Problem solved. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

If only it were that easy. Or IS it truly that simple?

If only it were that easy, or IS it truly that simple? I know for myself personally, I spent the better part of the last 30 years searching for that spiritual awareness or connection with God. I thought I was doing all the right things with religion, attending church, volunteering, reading, and regularly studying the Bible. If you had looked up the definition of seeking a spiritual connection with God, you would have seen my picture.

I prayed so much and so often that I'm surprised my lips didn't fall off.

I prayed so much and so often that I'm surprised my lips didn't fall off. However, I was never truly happy or satisfied. My life never seemed to be fruitful or produce the results I desired. I tried many things that didn't work. I started and stopped college a handful of times, never graduating. I worked tons of jobs while enduring dead-end relationships just trying to survive. I went from one thing to the next, to the next, searching for my joy and purpose but never really genuinely finding my way.

Have you ever felt like that? Are you feeling that way now?

Have you ever felt like that? Are you feeling that way now? Well, let me tell you, I understand entirely, which prompted me to write this post. I spent so many years unhappy that it's my sincerest hope to help someone else avoid years of misery by sharing my story. However, I will tell you this; the solution has been a long time in the making for me, and it's still a work in progress.

The answer? STFU talking to God, be still, and see what God has for me.

The answer? STFU talking to God, be still, and see what God has for me. The reason why it's been such a long time in the making? It took years to quiet my mind enough even to know what it felt like to connect to that Higher Power within, the God with which I spent so many years attempting to communicate. And even once I started genuinely feeling that connection, it took several more years to begin trusting my intuition and how God speaks with me, which is still a work in progress.

However, I know that connection never happens when I am busy, preoccupied, worried, stressed, or consumed with the "hustle." Connection happens when I find that quiet stillness within. I've gotten good enough now that I can usually drown out everything going on around me and find that stillness, that safe, quiet space.

And there, ladies and gentlemen, are where the answers lie.

And there, ladies and gentlemen, are where the answers lie. Once I began connecting to the peace, calmness, and serenity of that Higher Power within, I learned how to identify when I was off quickly. But even more beautiful, now I can more easily and regularly recognize when I am on. That's when I can perceive and receive the messaging God has for me in every moment and in everything around me.

God, Spirit, Consciousness speaks to us all the time. There is a place of flow and serenity you can tap into with your life that allows everything to flow in perfect order. Beautiful synchronicity and timing in life have nothing to do with us. It's God, Spirit, Consciousness, our Higher Power leading the way. However, most of us can never get quiet or work through our inner noise enough to connect. A majority of us are either consumed trying to get "it," or if you have "it," then you're engrossed with trying to keep "it." (Feel free to substitute whatever you want for "it.")

God, Spirit, Consciousness speaks to us all the time.

And for many of us, even when we have that thing, we're still not happy, but I get it. Life, society, "they" have conditioned us always to go from one thing to the next to the next. Most of us have so much going on that we don't know whether we're coming or going. And then, we wonder why so many people feel the need to take medication for anxiety or depression.

I am certainly not opposed to medication if warranted. I would never dismiss the fact that people deal with significant challenges with their mental and emotional states. If this is you, I send love and highly encourage you to seek assistance from a licensed professional.

However, I do believe some of us who are being told we deal with these things are really just disconnected from ourselves spiritually. Instead, we're consumed with our "grind" and our "hustle," moving from one thing to the next, looking for what's going to quench our soul, but never genuinely finding satisfaction. Instead, we out bustle our hustle when God knows how to lead us to the satisfaction and true fulfillment we seek with Divine precision. You just have to know how to listen.

However, I do believe some of us who are being told we deal with these things are really just disconnected from ourselves spiritually.

By the way, this might be the opportune time to insert the true definition of "grind" and "hustle." The following definitions are from a quick Google search:

Grind: reduce (something) to small particles or powder by crushing it; to wear, smooth, or sharpen by abrasion or friction; rub or cause to rub together gratingly; to reduce to fine particles, as by pounding or crushing; bray, triturate, or pulverize.

Hustle: force (someone, something) to move hurriedly or unceremoniously in a specified direction; obtain by forceful action or persuasion; to crowd or push roughly; to convey forcibly or hurriedly; to sell something to or obtain something from (someone) by energetic and especially underhanded activity.

Yikes! I don't know about you, but I don't want to be pulverized or ground to a powder trying to get "it," nor do I want to obtain anything in life by forceful action or persuasion. I'll take the peace and ease of a connection with Spirit for $2,000,000, Alex.

For the record, I'm starting to become a lot more conscious of the definitions of the words I use and the spells they cast over my life. Be careful grasping onto and incorporating popular phrases without knowing the actual definition. Be careful what diagnoses you accept as well. That's now officially my second TedTalk that you've attended for free. I'm going to start charging at this point. :D

I'm going to start charging at this point. :D

So I realize this has gotten lengthy and the need to make a part two. So if you're interested, I ask you to tune in next week, where I will follow up with more info on how I've managed to get to this tiny place of peace and serenity in my life for which I've worked so hard. So in the meantime, I leave you with this: Find time and space to be still. If you're already a meditator, then you're probably way past me and haven't read this far.

But if not, work on trying to steal little moments of quietness, and I'll follow up next week with what I've learned to do with those precious moments.

Sharing the tiny bit of nothingness that I've learned in my time on this spiritual journey so far. Trusting the intended audience will find something useful in what I've shared.

Thanks for placing your eyeballs on my content!

But tune in next week tho!

Love you!
